Sanding Belts
Zirconium – colour: blue
This self sharpening abrasives is not as hard as aluminum oxide therefore is more resistant to break down during agressive stock removal. Applications: ginding and deburring of all types of metals and works well on wood planing operations. This is a more economic belt than the green zirconium abrasive we supply.
Zirconium – colour: green
This belt is made with an extra heavy cloth and can be used wet or dry. Applications: heavy stock removal, rough grinding on carbon steel, cast iron and stainless steel. This belt is designed to last longer than the blue zirconium belt.
Ceramic – colour: orange to light brown
This abrasive is hard and resists break down with excellent self sharpening qualities. Applications: Long lasting stock removal on all metals. When using this material light pressure by the operator will give the belt more life. Wet or Dry.
Aluminum Oxide – colour: usually brown
This abrasive is the most commonly used due to its cost. Applications: wood, metal, plastics and varnishes. There are many variations of this material depending on your application, Available for dry and wet sanding.
Silicone Carbide – colour: usually black
This abrasive is very hard but sensitive to heat. Applications: glass, ceramic, marble, granite and MDF. Sometimes used on titanium due to its purity.
